It started the way most Texas stories do, around a table, in good company.
Lifelong friends Rick and Rob had long debated whose barbecue sauce was better. But instead of adding another bottle to an already crowded category, they set out to create something entirely different, a ranch inspired sauce with the depth and versatility to stand alongside Texas barbecue.
At the Round Top Film Festival, while gathering feedback on early batches, they connected with new collaborators and expanded the vision. What began as a casual tasting quickly became something bigger. With Rob’s wife, Shanna Schanen, Co Founder of the Round Top Film Festival and the group’s trusted taste tester, the team was complete.
After months of refining, Ricky Robby’s Ranch Sauce was born, a bold reimagining of a classic. Smoky, tangy, and crafted with a balanced blend of vinegar and tomato, it is designed to elevate everything it touches, from beef and pork to poultry and beyond.
Now offered in Original and Spicy, the sauce blends flavor with purpose. A portion of proceeds from every bottle supports charitable organizations, making each purchase a contribution to something greater, for both your taste buds and the community.

Rob is an avid golfer, hunter, and all-around outdoorsman who lives for fresh air and adventure. He is a self-proclaimed BBQ master and has been married to the official taste tester for 30 years. When he’s not grill-side, you can find him watching films of all kinds—except rom-coms.

Rick is a devoted golfer, amateur chef, and full-time grandfather to 18 grandkids who keep him on his toes. With five kids of his own and more dogs than he can count, his life is always full of energy and chaos in the best way. When he’s not on the course or in the kitchen, he’s busy being everyone’s favorite grandpa.

She co-founded the Round Top Film Festival with her daughter, Skylar, blending her love for family, film, and all things Texas. When she's not working on her latest creative project, she's likely trying one of Rob's newest culinary creations.
